Chinese pork wraps, also known as “moo shu pork,” are a popular Chinese dish featuring stir-fried pork combined with a mix of vegetables such as cabbage, mushrooms, and bamboo shoots. The filling is seasoned with ingredients like hoisin sauce, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger, creating a savory and slightly sweet flavor profile. This mixture is then wrapped in thin Mandarin pancakes or served with lettuce leaves, allowing diners to create their own wraps. The dish is known for its delicious taste and interactive dining experience, making it a favorite in Chinese cuisine.
Ingredients :
½ lb of ground pork
1 can of crabmeat
8 medium size lettuce leaves
3 small dried mushrooms
5 shallots or spring onions
2 table spoon of sesame oil
1.5 can of water chestnuts
1 table spoon of olive oil
1 table spoon of soy sauce
2 table spoon of oyster sauce
2 table spoon of dry sherry
1 can of bamboo shoots
Directions :
Soak mushrooms in a boiling water for about an hour. Then drain it, when mushrooms are softer chop it finely (you could use chopper on medium high). Also chop shallots, water chestnuts and bamboo shoots, put it aside. Drain and flake crab. In a medium pan heat olive oil and put in pork and fry it for about 30 minutes. Next insert water chestnut, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, crab, shallots, and mixed it all together. Cook for couple more minutes, mixing constantly. At the end add all of the sauces in the ingredients section. Once mixture cool down a bit, take the medium size lettuce leave and put in the prepared mixture in it. Roll it almost like a burrito! If you are a cheese lover, you could sprinkle it with some shredded cheese.
