Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry is a classic Chinese dish that combines tender strips of beef with crisp broccoli in a savory sauce. The dish is quick to prepare and features a rich blend of soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and oyster sauce, making it a flavorful and satisfying meal. Often served over steamed rice, this dish is a favorite for its simplicity and taste.
Ingredients :
1 lb of flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
4 cups of broccoli florets
3 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tablespoon of fresh ginger, minced
1/4 cup of soy sauce
2 tablespoons of oyster sauce
2 tablespoons of cornstarch
1 tablespoon of sugar
1/4 cup of beef broth or water
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
1 tablespoon of sesame oil
1 teaspoon of rice vinegar
1 teaspoon of cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon of water (slurry for thickening)
Cooked white or brown rice for serving

Directions :
Start by marinating the thinly sliced beef in a mixture of soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch, allowing it to sit for 15 minutes to tenderize and absorb the flavors. Meanwhile, blanch the broccoli florets in boiling water for 2 minutes, then drain and rinse them under cold water to keep them crisp. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat, then sear the marinated beef for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and ginger, stir-frying until fragrant, before adding a flavorful sauce made from soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, beef broth, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. To thicken the sauce, stir in a cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce reaches your desired consistency. Finally, return the beef and broccoli to the skillet, tossing everything together until well-coated in the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to heat through, then serve the stir-fry over steamed rice for a delicious and satisfying meal.
